Colors on your screen

Metal tones photograph badly and every screen renders them differently. A yellow-gold plating can read warmer on an OLED phone than on a laptop, and silver against a white background often looks flatter than it does in daylight. We photograph pieces as accurately as we can and we do not retouch stones to look brighter than they are, but the piece in your hand will not be a pixel-perfect match to the piece on your screen.

Measurements and tolerance

Dimensions are given by our suppliers and are accurate to roughly plus or minus 2mm on jewelry and plus or minus 5mm on hair accessories. Chain lengths are measured end to end including the clasp unless the listing says otherwise. Stone sizes are nominal. If a measurement matters to you — a bangle that has to clear a specific hand, a chain that has to sit at a specific point — email us before you order and we will check the piece.

Materials, plating and how they wear

We describe materials as they are. Plated is called plated and never described as solid gold. Sterling silver is called sterling silver. Moissanite is called moissanite and cubic zirconia is called cubic zirconia — neither one is a diamond and we do not imply otherwise.

Plating is a surface layer, and every plated piece wears through eventually. How fast depends on skin chemistry, perfume, lotion, sweat, chlorine and how often the piece is worn. We do not publish a wear lifespan in months or years because any such number would be invented. Our care guides in the Journal explain what actually extends it.

Metal sensitivity

Some people react to nickel, which is present in many base-metal alloys used in fashion jewelry, including under plating. A reaction usually shows as redness or itching where the metal sits. If you know you are sensitive to nickel, read the material line on the listing before ordering and email us if it is not specific enough.

California Proposition 65

California's Proposition 65 requires warnings for products that expose people to listed chemicals. In jewelry the chemicals most often at issue are lead, cadmium and nickel compounds, which can occur in base-metal alloys, solder and plating.

We have not yet completed independent laboratory testing of our range against Proposition 65 thresholds. We are therefore stating the standard that applies rather than claiming a result we cannot evidence. If you are a California resident and want to know the tested status of a specific piece before ordering, email support@meowpamper.com and we will tell you honestly what we do and do not have on file for it.

We will publish test results on this page when we hold them. We will not publish a compliance claim before then.

Safe use

Jewelry and hair accessories are not toys and are not intended for children under 12. Small parts, clasps, pins and stones present a choking hazard. Brooch and pin backs are sharp — fasten them into fabric, not skin. Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, exercising, sleeping and any activity where a chain or ring could catch.

Reviews and testimonials

Any customer review shown on this site is a real review left by a real customer. We do not buy reviews, we do not import reviews from marketplaces, and we do not delete a review because it is unflattering. Where we have no reviews for a product yet, we show nothing rather than filling the space.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meowpamper is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of this site or our products. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

This section does not limit your rights under applicable state or federal law. Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, and where that is the case, those limitations do not apply to you.
